Downhill

July 10th, 2009

The chill mountain air whipping past you, the excitement of dodging trees while wearing two thin planks. Is there anything better than skiing?

How about skiing without leaving your desk? Just type in this short program and you?re ready to race for the bottom of the slopes. Use the arrow keys to move. Try to collect flags to increase your score. Each mountain is taller than the last, and stepper too so you go faster.

Downhill is written by James E. Ward.

This game is a demo of an ASCII Arcade project that I am currently developing. I am trying to get as much out of text mode as i can so expect to see some more from me here.

Clicking the “download and play” link sends me to the main page. Upon further examining, I found that the download link will give a 404 error by copy/pasting the link into a download manager.
Please (re)upload the game, as I’m sure plenty of other users (and me) would love to play it.
