I've toyed with the idea of a VIP section on Cymon's Games where if you paid for a monthly subscription you'd get access to the stuff I was working on before it went public like betas for the next AP as well as sketches and whatnot. my development pace is pretty slow, being as Cymon's Games is a weekend and evenings thing which is competing with so it wouldn't be more than a couple bucks a month but you'd be supporting independent game development as well as programming education and helping me justify to my wife this time suck of a hobby of mine.

But, since I haven't initiated the VIP section maybe a preview of what the VIP section would be if I had one is in order. Attached to this are the wav files that I'll be illustrating for my next rant for the Lockergnome channel. Enjoy.

Microsoft Courier Reaction.ogg

(Sorry about the less-mainstream file format. Apparently I haven't got the right version of Lame Installed in audicity at the moment. Hope you can listen to it.)

So if I did have a VIP section right now, I'd be dropping this into it.

cymonsgames.com/videos/Opening.wmv

This is the first pass, no music, of the opening of my videos for lockergnome. Gotta edit out a few bad frames there, but that's what I got now. (Need to go beddy bye.) I think it turned out alright.

I could also potentially drop a video of the drawing I did at the beginning at a more watchable speed, tho I did some reference drawings first that I forgot to record and then did a rough drawing which I made very very light and drew over so I could draw that drawing faster and more accurately. Still, you're looking at it sped up like 16 or 32 times.

EDIT: I've had imusic.net and Pterodactyl Squad recommended by Bytejacker's own John Riveria. That's good for the blippy. Anything else more musical jazzy or rock-y (and royalty free) anyone know of?

Easter egging!
  • The opening music is a remix of the Suppox music for Star Control 2. The ending is a remix of the Zot Fot Pik song from the same. Someone on YouTube caught the ending remix, but no one caught the opening.
  • I drew Cymon in the Buddy Jesus pose. I thought sure I'd be called out for that one.
  • This is also the first time I've put a smiley on Cymon's Screen. I originally intended his screen to only display one character at a time, but I broke that rule this time.
  • I drew the portable computer as a Pokemon because Pokemon stands for "pocket monster" and it's a pocket computer that I was talking about and... It was a stretch at best.
That's it for this video. Lockergnome is asking for more, tho at the moment I have nothing. School started this week, I'm still the new guy at work, and my creative well is tapped. So if anyone of you have any ideas for what I can do next, pipe up.
