I love this demo. The lesson is clear: the difference between a tech demo and a finished game is nothing but polish. Meaningless, silly, empty calories for the eyes and ears. In fact just about any game on Cymon’s Games could be polished to a shine and released which kinda makes my point that fun is an afterthought and is therefore less valuable, in terms of the big picture, than innovation. Not to say that fun isn’t important, I think this demonstrates how important fun is. It is the sugar coating that gets people to eat their vegetables… wait, that’s wrong. Sugar coated vegetables?
