Real life has reared it’s ugly head and unfortunately Cymon’s Games has suffered. Not that you’ve noticed. I just haven’t queued up anything for this next week and I’m not really feeling like it right now. Hopefully I’ll get over this soon because deep down I’d really hate to mess up my streak just before my 2 year mark. Part of me is itching to just move on to the next thing, but I haven’t told you what the next thing is, so I’m not going to do that yet.
User Batch09master on Youtube brought to my attention through comments on my videos his attempt at bringing Lemmings to ASCII. It’s incomplete and uses windows.h, but it’s got potential. I like how it has you modifying the environment instead of the lemmings. Easier that way.
Despite my emotional slump ASCIIpOrtal has been getting some attention, both from me since I committed that the level editor will be the last project in my programming class and it’s due this Wednesday, and it’s been getting attention from others including a strong revenge showing on Bytejacker. That’ll teach them not to send me the accolades. Speaking of which IGF is currently judging the entries. They’ve got a ton of them, including ASCIIpOrtal. I don’t know what can be done to sway the judges except shove it in their face. I’m afraid I may have had my PR candle burnt out in one go, but I do occasionally see mentions of it on twitter that surprise me. Maybe I have a chance at IGF.
EDIT: Additionally I was reunited with an old game I used to enjoy. Run ‘em Over. You should check it out.
